Hrvatski: Oiseaux 96-98 Reckank... RKK-1 CD This album is a perfect example of ikonscodglichmuugenwitz. Gemwurstfangerschilbergnatts abound in both the left and right channels, producing an aura of ubglissaipingnifbunschortfig. Kind of a little Squarepusher meeting a little Funki Porcini in an orphanage and the two of them becoming leaders of an early Modernist street gang, shouting "Derrida" and "Ortega" at people and holding sausagemakers at gunpoint without asking for anything, not even money. Of course, all this stuff is a lot more introspective than that- that's why after V?t came of age he left the streets to go to music school and (according to Hekla, whom he trusted to write the liner notes on this one) get into prog. So there's more arpeggios than you can shake a stick at encased here, but hey, who cares as long as we can tell he spent a week and a half programming the drum patterns, right? I'll leave you with one last thought: Sapflutlurgemheglekken. Faultine: Closer Colder Leaf BAY 12CD Sweet stuff. This album kind of makes me think of what the Art Of Noise album could have been more like had AON kept abreast of experimental stuff during the past decade or so instead of scoring goofy movies. Interesting compositional arrangements abound, as well as the obligatory use of clever or clever-seeming samples (we've reached full circle, it seems- this is the new post-post-dance electronic music, movie dialogue is now okay again since it's no longer used as a cheesy floor-filler come-on). Expect to wait for the beats to drop in, but don't expect to be bored. next up: Savvas Ysatis "Highrise" Tom ____________________________________________________________________ Get free email and a permanent address at http://www.amexmail.com/?A=1 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

So does that mean you liked it? I'm thinking yes, but it seems a bit unclear. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
